And together they created The Suburb Farmhouse. Our home is situated in a North Atlanta Suburb, on old farmland. We inherited the home from my husband's late grandparents.
The land held my husband's grandparent's original farmhouse, built sometime in the late 30's, early 40's. By the 80's our area was growing and a school was needing to be built, so a portion of the farmland was sold to the county to build a school. The remaining land was kept and a new home was built. All of the old farm buildings are still on our land. As well, we have a lake and amazing woods to hike through.
With the history of the old farmland and farmhouse, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would style our home in farmhouse decor, because this is what our home is made of and everything about us.
I hope your follow along and learn about The Suburb Farmhouse and how we have created not only farmhouse decor but a lifestyle.
Our Learn To Shop Page offers pictures of our home's decor and furniture and where you can purchase the items. I am asked many times where I found the items I decorate with and thought this would be an excellent place to share that information, allowing people to learn more about us and The Suburb Farmhouse.
Our blog section will take you through decorating suggestions, DIY projects, organizing techniques, and just everyday life. I consider myself to be a "Working Housewife", I am one that is focused on a career during the day, but pick-up being a detailed housewife when I enter my home. I hope you follow along and enjoy the introduction to The Suburb Farmhouse.
